Overview
This job aid shows Benefits Officers how to configure a BAS group ID and run the process to assign a BAS Group ID to employees.
Background
- BAS Group ID is a field that, when populated, identifies a specific population to receive an Open Enrollment event or a special benefits enrollment event class.
- BAS Group ID is assigned by a process.
- You must configure the process to identify eligible employees and then run the process to assign the BAS Group ID to the appropriate population.
- Review all configuration options and determine the configuration settings for your campus based on your campus’s requirements.
- Run the CSU BAS GROUP ID Assignment process on-demand before creating the Open Enrollment or special benefits enrollment event class.
- The process runs nightly during Open Enrollment period at the start of the CSUBASOE job stream to update newly benefit-eligible employees.
Configure BAS Group ID
In this example, we modify the BAS Group ID for Fullerton to include employees who are active on the payroll.
Step 1: Navigate to CSU BAS GROUP ID Configuration
- Menu > Set Up HCM > CSU Product Related Setup >CSU Benefits Setup > CSU BAS GROUP ID Configuration

Step 2: Search for your BAS Group ID.
- Enter your search term.
- Click the Correct History check box.
- Correct History mode is necessary to change the configuration.
- Click Search

Step 3: Select your BAS Group ID.

Step 4: Specify the Effective Date.

Step 5: Use the arrows or View All link, to find the attribute to modify.

Step 6: Click the View Details button to change a setting.

Step 7: Configure the group ID criteria:
- Select Eligible to include or Ineligible to exclude from Open Enrollment
- Select the value to include

- A checked box shows that this attribute is used for the BAS Group ID

Step 8 Optional: Click the Plus button to add another criterion.,

Step 9: Click Save when you are finished with configuration.,
