Finalize BAS Events with Update Event Status

This job aid shows benefits officers how to finalize Benefits Administration Service (BAS) events from the Update Event Status page.

This procedure is for full self-service eBenefits campuses only. View-only eBenefits campuses do not use this procedure.
Step 1: Open the CSU Benefits Administrator tile.,
Step 2: Navigate to Update Event Status
- Enroll in Benefits > Update Event Status
Step 3: In the Empl ID field, enter the Employee ID
- Click Search
- The Update Event Status page opens for that employee.
Step 4: Finalize the BAS event:
- Locate the BAS event to finalize
- Select Finalize/Apply Defaults
- Verify Process is Normal Processing
- Verify Event Status is Open for Processing
- Only one event can be updated at a time. If any other events are open for Processing, close them first.
Step 5: Click Save at the bottom of the page
- When the nightly CSUBAS process runs, the employee’s enrollment is finalized and the system automatically inserts the applicable permitting event codes.
