Overview
This job aid shows campus LCD users how to update LCD combo codes. You can update a single combo code long and short description without having to create a new combo code.
Do not use this procedure to re-purpose unused combo codes.
Update an LCD Combo Code
Step 1: Open the Navbar button.

Step 2: Navigate to Menu > Set Up HCM > CSU Product Related Setup > CSU LCD Setup > CSU Combo Code Update
Step 3: Search for your Run Control ID. If you do not have a run control ID, click Add a New Value to create one.
Recommendation: The run control should have your campus two digit code and be unique to you. Run Controls are not shared and should be specific to the person completing the process.
Step 4: Enter the required search criteria:
- SetID
- Combo Code Effdt
- Department
- Fund Code:
- Account
Step 5: Optional: Enter remaining fields:
- Class Field
- Program Code
- Project/Grant
Step 6: Click Search.

Step 7: Review the Combo Code Search Result to confirm the correct combo code was retrieved.
Step 8: In the Update Fields area, enter a new Description and Short Description.

Step 9: Decide whether to check the Preliminary Flag check box.
- Check this box to review changes before finalizing.
- Clear the box to run the process and commit the changes.
If you run the process with the box checked, you must re-run the process with the box cleared to create the combo code.

Step 10: Click Run.

Step 11: On the Process Scheduler Request click OK.
Step 12: Open Process Monitor.

Step 13: Click Refresh until the Distribution Status is Posted.
Step 14: Click the process name: CSUBE8CU.

Step 15: View the reports:
- Click the report.
- Click View Log/Trace.
- Click the report to view from the File List.

CSUBE802 | Provides a PDF Output Report regarding the errors that occurred or what was successfully updated. If the "Preliminary Test" box was checked, then the successful report will have ""Preliminary" in the title. |
CSUCCSYN |
Confirms the Combo Code Sync process was able to run successfully. If the process is run with the "Preliminary Test" box checked, then you must run it again WITHOUT the "Preliminary Test" box checked to update the Combo Code. |
