| General Information: | Permanent separation used to separate an employee for medical reasons. An employee on a LWOP or NDI may be separated without a return to pay status. However, if a general salary increase or other salary action became effective while the employee was off pay status, and the employee is entitled to lump sum vacation and/or extra hours at the higher rate, process a reinstatement. The reinstatement and separation will have the same effective date. An employee on IDL/TDL may be separated without a return to pay status. Salary actions would be posted while the employee was off pay status.
