Definition:	Includes Special Consultant (paid Daily, not Hourly) or Special Session Faculty (lump sum paid at end of the session). Excludes Rehired Annuitants (see Immediate Pay/Rehired Annuitants).
General Information:	As campuses go live in CHRS, they are expected to use this consistently even if a process change is needed.
Business Rules:	Must have an end date. For Special Consultants, an individual cannot be hired to perform duties from a classification. Excluded from CalPERS retirement (HR/Salary 2021-08) - Special Consultants. Must be entered into CHRS in Job using the appropriate Action Reason (see Action Reason Guide).
Examples:	SPECIAL CONSULTANT: For a faculty member, they are being paid for duties that are outside of their regular appointment duties. An individual that is working for one/two days or longer on a project that does not fall within the classification standards. SPECIAL SESSION: For Special Sessions, they are faculty that are paid through a lump sum for instructing classes within the start and end date (generally no more than two months).
