As campuses go live in CHRS, they are expected to use this consistently even if a process change is needed. |
| Business Rules: |
- Must be filled immediately and have an end date.
- Based on Union Code (more details can be found in the appropriate CBA):
- Unit 1 - 180 days emergency hire
- Units 2,5,6,7,9 (CSUEU) - 180 Days max
- Unit 3 (Faculty) - does not apply
- Unit 4 - 120 Days max
- Unit 8 (Maritime specific) - no provision in CBA
- Unit 10 (Maritime specific) - 30 days
- Unit 11 (UAW) - does not apply
- Unit 13 (CSULA specific) not specified
- Unit 14 - 90 days
- E99, C99, M80 - campus discretion

| Examples: |
- Emergency hire - not through recruitment (fast tracked) - immediate need for the position.
- A position is vacated and rather than the department reassigning a current employee to backfill the vacated position, they decide to hire a short term employee.
