Payroll Absence Balance Inquiry

Overview

This job aid shows payroll administrators how to view absence balances for active employees.

Select employees

The page displays a set of employees by default. You can select one or multiple employees from this list.

Step 1: Navigate to Balance Inquiry Payroll.

  • Menu >Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt >CSU Absence Mgmt >CSU Payroll Balance Inquiry

Step 2: On the Payroll Balance Inquiry page select the As Of Date.

Step 3: Select filter criteria:

  • Bus Unit
  • Employee
  • Job Code
  • Dept ID
  • Pay Group
  • Unit
  • Union Code
  • Eligibility Group
  • Reports To

Guideline: If you run the search without filters, the search will take a long time. The filters reduce the search to a manageable number of returns.

Filters: The filters are listed in the Action column.

Step 4: Click Refresh Employees.

Step 5: Select employees:

  • Select individual employees.
  • Select All.
    • Click Select All to select all direct reports (at the bottom of the page).

Step 6: Click Continue.

  • Absence Balances are displayed.

View absence balances

Use the Year-End Projection report to track forfeitures and excess vacation.

Step 1: View Absence Balances.

  1. Review Sick, Vacation, and Personal Holiday balances.
  2. Optional: Click Details to view details for a single employee.
  3. Optional: Click the link to view the Graduated Vacation Chart.

Step 2: Click each tab to view:

  • Compensatory Time balances
  • Service Accrual balances
  • PTO balances
  • ETO balances
