Field CharacteristicDescription
Action:STD
Reason:ND3
Descr:NDI, Catastrophic Leave
Descrshort:NDI-CatLve
General Information:
  • Used to place an eligible employee on NDI with catastrophic leave supplementation.

  • The NDI Leave program is a wage continuation program, which provides benefits to employees meeting certain criterion who become disabled due to a non-work-related injury or illness. Eligibility to receive benefit payments is based upon the "wage-loss" concept in that the employee must have suffered a wage loss in order to be eligible to receive the benefit.

  • The employee's eligibility for NDI benefits must be reviewed by the appropriate campus administrator. Refer to the NDI Administrative Guide issued by the Chancellor's Office, Human Resources Administration for guidelines, policy and procedures.

  • Refer to Time and Labor documentation for academic year employees who are reinstated in a month with no academic calendar.
