Overview
This job aid shows HR administrators how to terminate students.
Before you start
If you want to automatically terminate student jobs because they have zero hours, use the Student Auto-Termination procedure.
Terminate student jobs
Step 1: On the Manager Self Service page, click the CSU Student Processes tile.
Step 2: Click CSU Student Termination.

- Menu > Workforce Administration > CSU Workforce Admin Process > CSU Student Processes > CSU Student Termination
Step 3: Enter search criteria to find students:
- Business Unit (campus)
- As Of Date
- Student Type
- Department
- Hourly Rate
- Job Code
Step 4: Select students to terminate.
- You can select multiple students or use the Select All link at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Optional: apply default values to selected students.
- Select properties to apply to all selected.
- Click Copy Defaults to Selected.
Step 6: Enter the Eff Date.
- The Effective Date is the date for the termination.
Step 7: Enter the reason for the action.
Step 8: Review the error message, if any.
- No time entered is a warning message. Students are terminated.
Step 9: Click Submit.
- All selected rows are submitted to Job Data.
- If any of the Empl IDs turn red, there is an error in processing that you need to address.
Monitor Student Transaction Status
After you submit your changes, you can open the Student Transaction Status page to review the results. You can open the Student Transaction Status page directly from the Rehire Students page, or from the menu.
Step 1: From the Terminate Students page, click Error Page.

- Menu > Workforce Administration > CSU Workforce Admin Process > CSU Student Processes > CSU Student Transaction Status
Step 2: Enter search criteria:
- Business Unit: Your campus. This field is required.
- From date
- Thru Date
- Operid: The Operator ID of the person who ran the transaction.
- CHRS ID: CHRS Employee ID
- CS Emplid: Campus Solution employee ID

Proc Status: Select the process statuses that you want to see:
- Error: An error occurred and the data was not loaded.
- Submitted: the job has been submitted, but not loaded to Job Data yet.
- Processed: Data was loaded successfully into Job Data.
- CSU Trans Type: Select the type of process you want to see: Hire, Rehire, Update, or Terminate.
Step 3: Click Student Employee Search.
Step 4: Review the results.
