The assignment and responsibilities of a counselor faculty unit employee may include but shall not be limited to individual counseling, group counseling, consultation and referral, case management (including record keeping), intern training and supervision, teaching, service on systemwide and campus committees and task forces, and activities that foster professional growth including creative activity and research. Part-time appointments are made on a conditional basis and are contingent upon budget and/or enrollment pursuant to CFA collective bargaining agreement (CBA) 12.5.

For newly hired counselor faculty at CSU Stanislaus, this appointment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified. Faculty rehired at CSU Stanislaus after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.
