The assignment of a temporary librarian faculty unit employee may include, but shall not be limited to, library services, reference services, circulation services, technical services, on-line reference services, teaching in library subject matter, service on systemwide and campus committees and task forces, and activities that foster professional growth, including creative activity and research. Part-time appointments are made on a conditional basis and are contingent upon budget and/or enrollment pursuant to CFA collective bargaining agreement (CBA) 12.5.

For newly hired temporary librarian faculty unit employees at CSU Stanislaus, this appointment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified. Librarians rehired at CSU Stanislaus after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.
