Overview
This article guides CHRS operations on configuring a new earnings code for both Time & Labor (TL) and Labor Cost Distribution (LCD).
Background
CHRS earnings codes impact all campuses and generally are created under the directive of SWHR.
Set up new Earnings Code
Step 1: Navigate to: Menu > Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Table
Step 2: Click Add a New Value.

Step 3: Enter a new Earnings Code, then click Add.

Step 4: Complete the following fields on the General page:
- Effective Date
- Description
- Short Description
Step 5: Click Save.

Step 1: Navigate to Menu > Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Program Table
Step 2: Click Search.
- The page lists the existing earnings codes.

Step 3: Click the Plus button for the Earnings Program to add a new effective dated row.
Step 4: Click the Plus button in the Earnings Codes table.
Step 5: Use the Lookup to enter the new Earnings Code on the new line.
Step 6: Click Save.

Step 1: Navigate to Menu > Set Up HCM > CSU Product Related Setup > CSU Time and Labor Setup > CSU SCO Earnings ID
Step 2: Click Add a new value.

Step 3: Enter the SCO Earnings ID, then click Add.

Step 4: Enter the following on the SCO Earnings ID Page:
- Effective Date
- Description
- Transaction Code
- SCO Payment Type
- SCO Payment Suffix

Step 5: Click Save.

Step 1: Navigate to Menu > Set Up HCM > CSU Product Related Setup > CSU Time and Labor Setup > CSU PIP Interface Setup
Step 2: Search for the Transaction Code.

Step 3: Open the CSU PIP Earn/Ded Code page.

Step 4: Click the Plus button to add a new effective-dated row.
Step 5: Click a Plus button to add a new entry.

Step 6: Enter the new row:
- PIP Code
- SCO Earnings ID
Step 7: Click Save.

The new earnings ID needs to have its account mapping updated on the LCD table to ensure that the correct accounts are billed. For the procedure, see: CSU Earnings Code Mapping.
