Time Zone Offsets

Overview

This job aid shows CHRS Operations how to set up the Time Zones after all campuses have implemented CHRS

Background

Two years worth of time zone offsets will be generated at a time.
The time zones are delivered by Oracle.
The Generate Query Offsets button takes the information from the Time Zone Data page and populates the PSTZOFFSET table with offsets for all the time zones and their daylight savings time periods for a specified period of time.

Set up time zones

Step 1: Open the Navbar button.

Step 2: Navigate to Menu > PeopleTools >Utilities >International >Define Time Zones

Step 3: Click Generate Query Offsets.

Step 4: Enter years, then click OK.

The date range includes two years before and two years after the update year. For example, if the update were made in 2025, the begin date would be 01/01/2023 and the end date would be 12/31/2027.
