Work with Campaigns

This guide shows you how to work with campaigns. You can use campaigns to build your talent pools, so that when a job opens, you have a large pool from which to choose applicants. Campaigns are used for a variety of purposes, including staff positions, graduate recruitment, faculty positions, and difficult-to-fill positions.

Start a Campaign

  • Open the Main Menu.
  • Click Manage Jobs.
  • Click New campaign from the top left of the page.
    • The New campaign page opens.
    • If you do not see the New campaign link on your Manage jobs page, then you do not have permission to create campaigns. Contact your campus administrator to review the permissions.
  • On the New campaign page, complete the fields.
    1. CSU Working Title
      • This is the title that of the campaign posting.
    2. Requisition Number (Leave blank)
      • Leave this field blank. A requisition number is generated automatically.
    3. Advertisement Text
      • Enter the advertising text the way it should be presented in the campaign posting.
    4. Campus
      • Specify your campus. Department Hierarchy is determined by each campus. These fields are hierarchical: The values available for each field are determined by the field value above it.
    5. Division
      • Specify your campus division. Department Hierarchy is determined by each campus. These fields are hierarchical: The values available for each field are determined by the field value above it.
    6. Recruitment Process
      • This is the recruitment process that the applicant goes through. Each campus has its own recruitment processes. Select a campaign recruiting process.
    7. Advertising summary
      • This field is used in the job posting. Provide a high-level summary of the position.
    8. Recruitment Status
      • Indicates the current status of the campaign. You can save a requisition as a draft or save as approved if it is ready to post
    9. Internal Team
      • The campus department that has access to this campaign.
    10. Posting Location
      • Specifies the campus site where this campaign should be posted. Make sure to select the correct campus.
    11. Campaign type
      • Choose the General campaign type.
    12. HR/Faculty Affairs Representative
      • Person providing services to support the recruitment. This is the recruiter.
  • Click Submit.
    • Applicants cannot see the campaign until you post it.
    • The procedure for posting a campaign is identical to the procedure for posting a job.

Locate a Campaign

After you create and post the campaign, you need to proactively keep track of applicants who apply for it.

  • Open the Main Menu.
  • Click Manage jobs.

  • Select the campaign type from the Types menu.

  • Click Search. The campaigns are displayed.

Organize Campaign Applicants

After the campaign is posted, applicants will begin to apply. As an HR/FA Representative, you can use Talent Pools and Tags to organize these applicants. When a job opens, you can use these talent pools and tags to find potential applicants for the job.

Add Applicants to Talent Pools and Tags

  • Locate the campaign.
  • Click the campaign title to open the campaign page.
  • Click View applications.
  • Find the application that you want to view, then click View application.
  • Open the CRM tab.
  • Select a talent pool or category from the list.
    • Current talent pools are shown to the right of the menu.
      • If you added a talent pool by mistake, hover over the talent pool and click the X to remove it.
  • To add a tag that is not listed, type a tag name and then click Add new tag.
