Overview
This job aid shows you how to cancel an absence request in CHRS.
Background
- You can update an absence request until it is approved.
- If you need to update an absence after approval, cancel the absence first using this job aid.
- After the cancellation is approved, you can then edit and resubmit the request, see: Resubmit a Canceled Absence.
If the absence is in a calendar period that has already been finalized, you cannot cancel the absence request. Instead, you must contact your campus administration team to cancel the request for you.
Open CSU Time
CSU Time is a central location for managing your time reporting, leave, and absences.
Step 1: If you have multiple Homepages, select the Employee Self Service Homepage.
Step 2: Select the CSU Time tile.
Cancel absences
Step 1: In CSU Time, select Cancel Absences.
Step 2: Click the the request that you want to cancel.
Step 3: Click Cancel Absence. You might need to scroll down to see this button.
Step 4: Click Yes to cancel the absence.
Cancelled absences are not deleted. If you want to request a new absence during the time of a cancelled request, you update the cancelled absence and resubmit for approval.

The absence changes to Cancelled.
