Update Incumbents

If selected, the system automatically will insert a job row for the incumbent and update the matching job data fields in the Job Data component.

  • When adding a position, default is unchecked.
  • When updating a position, default is checked.  Always uncheck.
  • If used, the Action of the inserted job row will be “POS/XXX” (Reason will match the Reason of the current position row).

-   position is active and

-   incumbent’s job data record does not have the Override Position Data option selected.

If unchecked, then Include Salary Plan/Grade field will be grayed out.

If unchecked, message:

“Incumbent data will not be updated unless Update Incumbents flag is on (1000,160)

If you wish to use the auto-maintenance features of Position Management, the Update Incumbents flag must be turned on.  If you wish the current incumbents’ data to be updated, go to the Add/Update Position Info and check the Update Incumbents checkbox on the Specific Information page.  Leave checkbox unchecked if you do not want incumbent changes to be made.”
