Valid Value Rule(s):
  •  Hire must be the first action in the Empl Rcd.
  •  Rehire must be preceded by a termination or retirement.
  •  Returns from leave must be preceded by corresponding action placing employee on leave.
  •  Refer to Action/Reason Guide for Action Values and Descriptions.

Impacted Fields:

Action Reason values displayed are filtered by the Action selected, e.g., HIRE action will allow only the following Action Reasons:  Appointment, Concurrent Job, and Appt Prior Employee.

Determines the Employee Status.

Combination of Action and Effective Date populates or changes:

  •      Original Start Date
  •      Last Start Date
  •      First Start Date
  •      Termination Date
  •      Org Instance Service Date 
  •      Company Seniority Date
  •      Benefits Service Date 
  •      Professional Experience Date 

Expected Return Date appears for leave related transactions.

Last Date Worked appears for separation and leave related transactions.

Impacted Processes:

 

  • Action and Action Reason combination determines the PIMS transaction code on the PPT.
  • Action and Action Reason combinations will affect the Benefit Status and establish the BAS Action (Event) in BAS activity (created upon Save).
  • Benefits Transaction Report lists employees with action/reasons that may affect their benefits eligibility.
  • Certain Action and Action Reason combinations will affect Payroll Status and Absence Management status.
            System Audits:Required; error if in conflict with certain prior and/or future Empl Status.
