The Work Period is the period in which the employee works the identified standard hours.

The system uses the Work Period in combination with the Standard Hours to dynamically calculate FTE. 

Compensation Rate: Uses Work Period to calculate rate of pay via FTE.

The following message occurs if any change is made to FTE, Standard Hours or Work Period and may be ignored:
“Warning -- Work Period was changed and no change was made to Standard Hours or FTE. (1500,121) You have changed the Work Period field without making a corresponding change to the Standard Hours field or FTE field; these fields generally need to be changed together.”
