FLSA Status

Represents the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status code. FLSA codes indicate the employee's eligibility for overtime and are defined in the CSU Salary Schedule . To determine the FLSA Status for a job code or skill level, search the job (class) code in the CSU Salary Schedule , then click the class/grade in the search results to view attributes.

Note: FLSA Status may be different for payroll purposes; see the FLSA Exemption Test Overview to determine the FLSA Status for payroll purposes.

Valid Value Rule(s):

Position Data - Defaults from Salary Grade Table
Job Data - Defaults from Position Information.
Status determined by Grade (Position), when Grade Position is changed FLSA Status will change, if appropriate
Populates FLSA Status (Job Data)

Value	Translate Long/Short Name	Description
X	Exempt	Indicates classifications or skill levels that are considered exempt under the FLSA "White Collar" Standard Duties tests applied to an employee in that classification.
N	Non-Exempt	Indicates classifications or skill levels that are considered non-exempt under the FLSA "White Collar" Standard Duties tests only.
O	Other	Indicates the CSU classifications that qualify for the FLSA agricultural exemption.
