Getting Started with CHRS
Welcome to CHRS. CHRS is the CSU systemwide human resources system. It supports HR information and processes across campuses and is built on PeopleSoft 9.2 architecture with CSU-specific modifications.
Your CHRS quick start
Start with the CHRS Navigation video. It shows how to navigate the CHRS interface, set Favorites, and log out. CHRS Navigation-Introduction
The CHRS Knowledge Base contains job aids, tutorials, FAQs, workflows, and other support resources. Use Search to enter keywords or natural-language questions.
Review and correct your phone number, address, and other personal details. See: Personal Profiles Self-Service-ESS
Your time-entry process depends on how you are paid and your CSU classification.
If you are… What to know Salaried Pay is generally received around the beginning of the month. Most salaried employees do not enter time on a timesheet. Non-exempt salaried employees use the timesheet to record approved overtime worked. Hourly Enter time using the hourly timesheet. This includes Student Assistants, ISAs, Special Consultants (Hourly), Hourly Intermittent Employees, Casual Workers, and non-exempt staff reporting non-regular time. Absence-eligible employees request and record time off for vacation, sick leave, and other reasons. Absence Management is used by faculty, exempt and non-exempt staff, managers/administrators, Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and some hourly employees. See: Employee Manage Absences
New hires have 60 days to select benefits options. See: New Hire Enroll in Benefits

Managers
Managers review and approve employee time and absences and may also enter or correct information for employees when needed.

Faculty
Faculty Self-Service provides information useful to faculty members, similar to Employee Self-Service. Use it for faculty profile, time, benefits, and appointment-related information available through the CHRS Knowledge Base.
Administrators
Administrator support is organized by CHRS module. Select the tile for the module you use to open its manual. Current module areas shown in the Knowledge Base include:
