Position Number

The unique number assigned to the position. Through Position Management, many fields in Job Data are defaulted based on the associated attributes in the Position Number.

Valid Value Rule(s):
  • Position number will default to the next available value after the save.   
  • Position numbers cannot be manually assigned. 
  • New position numbers will be assigned during CHRS conversion. 
Appointment TypePosition Protocol
RegularAssign one employee per position
HourlyAssign multiple employees per position i.e. pool position
Other TemporaryUsually assign one employee per position.
EmergencyUse or update existing pool position for department (or create new if needed)
Leave ReplacementUse same position as employee on leave unless Emergency hire.
Overlapping AppointmentUse same position as employee separating unless working title is different.
