• Defaults to Active – accept default 
• If address is unknown, indicate “Unknown” in street address and set Status to Inactive. 
• Position:  Accept default of “Active” 
• Position status: will always be active, unless the position is no longer to be used.
• When paired with Status = 'A': Approved = Active, funded.  Approved is the only value that is transferred to Recruiting (PageUp).   Proposed =  Approved but pending authorization to recruit. Frozen= Saved for future use.

Job Data:  
Inactive positions do not appear in Position Number search.

If Inactive status, returns blank address values.

If a position is inactivated while there is a current incumbent the following error appears: “This position has active incumbent(s).  Please check Employee ID XXXXXXXXX (1000 ,207) The employee listed is still an active incumbent.  The employee must be scheduled to become disassociated from the position before the effective date of the position’s inactivation. There may be other employees who are also active.  Please verify all employees associated with this position are also scheduled to be disassociated before the position’s inactivation effective date.”

If an employee is hired into an inactive position, the following error appears: “Invalid value – press the prompt button or hyperlink for a list of valid values (15,11). The value entered in the field does not match one of the allowable values. You can see the allowable values by pressing the Prompt button or hyperlink.”
