Grade

Updated on

Each Job code has a Salary Admin Plan assigned to it, and Grade(s) within it.  It is the combination of Salary Admin Plan and Grade that sets the FLSA Status.
Field CharacteristicDescription
Valid Value Rule(s):

GENERAL RULES:

  • Values will be based on the Salary Admin Plan that is assigned to that Job Code.

  • As a best practice, grade should always be changed in position not in Job.  Additionally, Position and Job should be in sync except for those listed below.  This would include single and multiple headcount positions.

  • Exceptions:  Pooled positions.

  • In JOB, Grade is equivalent to the CSU Range.  Grade is associated with the Job Code in PeopleSoft as the CSU Range is associated with the CSU Classification in the CSU Salary Schedule

  • In POSITION,  it is the range associated with the Job Code. Defaults from the Job Code table.
