Valid Value Rule(s):
  • Select the Ethnic Group checked on the Employee Self ID Form (only Ethnic Groups that map to PIMS values are included).
  • Values are based on U.S. Federal Equal Employment Opportunities ethnic categories. Use ethnic group information to compile the establishment's affirmative action plan and to generate several equal employment opportunity (EEO) reports.
  • Ethnic Groups map up to the higher level EEO Ethnic Category.
  • Ethnicity reporting requirements for Student Administration differ significantly and therefore ethnicity for persons with "Active Student" checked on the Organizational Relationships page should not be changed.  
  • Use PPT mapping rules to report on employee ethnic categories.

Impacted Fields:

Ethnic Category:  PeopleSoft delivers some ethnicity groups predefined and associated with U.S. recognized ethnic group categories. These categories are translate values (White, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander, and Not Specified) and should not be modified. CMS can, however, create additional ethnic groups and associate them with existing ethnic categories to reflect the diverse ethnicities within the CSU.
