GENERAL: 

• Effective Date/As Of Date is beginning of business (BOB). 

• Field displays As Of Date on summary pages and Self Service and Effective Date on detail pages. 

• New Hires - Use default of current (system) date or date of hire, whichever is earliest. 

• Address Changes - Enter current date, unless future date is requested. 

• Self Service - Cannot be earlier than current date, can be current or future date 

MODULE SPECIFIC: 

• Benefits:  

  • The date the Benefit Program is effective.  Defaults to Effective Date of the job action resulting in a new or changed Benefit Program. 
     

• Job Data:

  • The date the job transaction is effective.  

  • When the job transaction is saved, Effective Date is fed into many system-generated date fields: 

  • Original Start Date 

  • Company Seniority Date 

  • Time and Labor Effective Date 

  • Prob End 

  • Anni Month/Year 

If effective date is corrected on initial hire of employee, update the following: 

Personal Data-Effective Date (if Personal Data date is after new updated hire date) 

Benefits Program Date (for hires only) - Benefit Program Participation Effective Date 

Personal -  Date the data in the various personal data tables is effective. 

• For initial hire, use default of current (system) date or date of hire, whichever is earliest.  For updates to personal data, use current date or future date if appropriate. 

• If Job Data Effective Date of initial hire is changing and precedes personal data Effective Dates, update the personal data Effective Dates before updating Job Data Effective Date. 
   

• Four Effective Date fields are displayed in the Personal Data pages: 

  • Names:  First Effective Date displayed on Biographical Details tab 

  • Personal Data Effective Date:  Displayed in the Biographical History section on Biographical Details tab 

  • Addresses:  Displayed on Current Addresses Section of Contacts tab and Address History page 

• Personal Data USA:  Displayed in the History Section of the Regional tab
• Position:
  Date the position row is effective.
• Time Reporter Data: 
  • The date the Time Reporter Data is effective.
  • Must be prior or equal to the corresponding Job Data Effective Date
• Time Reporter Data:
  • Cannot be earlier than Hire effective date

PERSONAL DATA: 

• When personal data is saved, Names Effective Date is fed into many system-generated date fields, including:  

• Job Data Effective Date, Personal Data Effective Date, Marital Status As of Date, Address As of Date, Personal Data USA Effective Date.

• This field automatically populates the Original Start Date, Company Seniority Date, Time and Labor Effective Date, Benefit Program Date

PPT:  PPT effective date prints based on whether the transaction is effective BOB or COB in PIMS.  When PIMS transaction is BOB, the PPT prints with Job Data Effective Date.  When PIMS transaction is COB, the PPT prints day before Job Data effective date. is the date of the day before the PS Effective Date.  See PIMS Manual BOB COB Definitions for details

• “Warning – date out of range (15,9) 

• The date entered is either more than 30 days in the past or 30 days in the future.  This is not normally true for this date.  Either acknowledge that the date is OK, or correct the entered date.” 

• Personal Data Effective Date must be on or before Job Data Effective Date.  Error – System will not allow you to save a Job Data Effective Date change until Personal Data Effective Date is changed to on or before new Job Data Effective Date. 

TIME REPORTER DATA: 

• Error – “Enrollment in Time and Labor cannot begin prior to the Hire Date of YYYY-MM-DD. (13500,1704) 

• To complete this transaction, please choose an enrollment date greater or equal to the hire date.” 

PERSON: 

• Required field 

• Chronological order check 

• System will not allow you to save a Job Data Effective Date change until Effective Date is changed to on or before new Job Data Effective Date.  

• Error through Self Service only: 

• “The Change Date must be today's date or greater. (18032,552) 

• In order to submit address changes, the Change Date must be today's date or greater.”
