Overview
This job aid shows you how to use a public query to obtain User IDs and Employee IDs.
Background
- Employees have two IDs: an Employee ID and a User ID.
- Sometimes you might need to obtain an Employee ID or a User ID when you have the other.
- You can build a personal query to get this information, but there is an existing public query.
Run the CSU_SEC_15 query
Step 1: Navigate to Query Viewer.
- Menu > Reporting Tools > Query > Query Viewer.
Step 2: Search for the query:
- Type CSU_SEC_15 in the search field.
- Click Search.
Step 3 Optional: Add to Favorites.
- Add to favorites if you need to use this query frequently.
Step 4: Click Excel export the data to a Microsoft Excel file.
Step 5: Enter your campus abbreviation in the Company field, then click View Results.
- The file is downloaded to your default browser download location.
- You can search this file to find any user by name or User ID and the associated employee ID.
