This article shows managers how to complete the Employee Evaluation as part of the ePerformance process.

Open the Evaluation
Step 1: On the Manager Self Service Homepage, click the Team Performance tile.
- Current Documents is open by default.
Step 2: Click the current document.
Review Employee and Participant Comments
Review employee and participant comments before assigning ratings. These comments may provide additional context about accomplishments, challenges, or performance during the evaluation period.
Step 1: On the Goals tab, expand the goal.
Step 2: Scroll down to review the Employee Comments and the Participant Comments.
Step 3: Review employee and participant comments on each tab.

- Participant feedback
- Professional Development
Rate the Employee's Goals
Step 1: Open the Goals tab.
Step 2: Click the expansion carat to expand the goal.
Step 3: Select a rating for the goal.
Rate the Employee's Competencies
Step 1: Click the Competencies tab.
Step 2: Expand the competency that you want to rate.
Step 3: After reviewing the information, select a rating for this competency.
Step 4: Provide your comments for each competency.
Step 5: Complete all of the competency ratings.
Complete the Summary
Step 1: Click the Summary tab.
Step 2: Calculate the overall rating.
- The Manager Rating is calculated by averaging all of your ratings.
- The Manager Rating is displayed after you click the Calculate Rating button.
Step 3: Enter your overall summary for this employee.
Share with Employee
Share with the employee only after you have finished entering all of your ratings and comments.
Step 1: Click Submit for Approval in the top right of the page.
Step 2: Click Confirm.
Step 3: Verify that Update and Submit step is marked as completed.
Unless your campus requires upper management approval, the Pending Approval step is automatically completed.
Step 3: Click Share with Employee.
Step 4: Click Confirm.
Meet with your employee
This step occurs outside if CHRS.
Schedule a meeting with your employee to discuss the evaluation details you just completed for the year. The employee will receive an email notification that indicates the document is ready for review.
Request Acknowledgement
- After your review meeting and your employee has had a chance to review your evaluation, you must request your employee to acknowledge the evaluation.
- This step is a digital signature from the employee that acknowledges understanding of the evaluation and meeting with you.
- Your employee receives a notification. When the employee has acknowledged the annual evaluation, you will receive an email notification letting you know that the evaluation is ready for final review and completion.
Step 1: Open the Evaluation.
Step 2: Click Request Acknowledgement in the top right of the page.
Step 3: Click Confirm.
- The Request Acknowledgement step shows as completed.
Review and Enter Concluding Comments
After the meeting, the employee can add comments. Before you complete the evaluation, review the comments and optionally add your own.
Step 1: Open the Evaluation.
Step 2: Open the Summary tab.
Step 3: Review the employee comments in Section 6 - Overall Summary.
Step 4: Review employee comments in Section 7 - Employee Acknowledgement.
Step 5: You may enter more comments in Section 8 - Manager Comments.
Step 6: Click Save.
Optional: You can click Override Acknowledgement if the employee did not acknowledge.
Complete the Evaluation
Step 1: Click Complete.
Step 2: Click Confirm.
- All steps of the employee evaluation is complete.
Appendix: Reopen a document (optional)
You can reopen the employee's self-evaluation or the other participant evaluations after they have been completed by clicking the Reopen link.
Appendix: Change the Due Date (optional)
For self-evaluations, if the Change Due Date button is visible, you can change the due date.
