Overview
This job aid shows managers how to define goals for their employee's ePerformance evaluations.
Background
During the goal-setting phase, the manager and employee will have the opportunity to add goals and review competencies, and add professional development for the evaluation period. The manager can also add competencies. This phase will be used as a tool to assist employees in meeting their yearly goals and should be used as an opportunity for employee and manager to discuss their expectations for the year.
Step 1: On your Manager Self-Service Homepage, click Team Performance tab.
Step 2: Click Current Documents.
Step 3: Click the row to select the Annual Evaluation for that employee.
Step 4: Under the Goal Setting navigation, click Update and Approve
Step 5: On the Goals tab, click Add Goal.
Step 6: Select "Add your own goal," then click Next.
Step 7: Complete the goal:
- Enter the title for the goal.
- Enter a description for goal details.
- Enter Employee Measurement to enter the measurement criteria for the specific goal for the specific employee.
- Enter the goal End Date.
- Click Add.
The Employee Measurement field title is offset from the text window.
View Competencies
You can view competencies and optionally add competencies.
Step 1: Click the Competencies tab.
Step 2: To view the competency, click the expansion icon to expand the competency.
Add a Competency
Some employees can have more competencies. Use this procedure to add competencies to the list.
Step 1: Click Add Competency.
Step 2: On the Add a Pre-Defined Competency page:
- Select a Content Group.
- Click Search.
The three content groups are:
- Lead/Coordinator
- MPP/Executive
- Staff (Individual Contributor)
- The search returns the list of predefined competencies in that Content Group.
Step 3: In the Search Results:
- Click the check box to select a competency to add. You can add more than one.
- Click Add.
Step 4: Confirm that the new Competency is listed in the list of competencies for the employee.
You can create professional development goals for your employees.
Step 1: Click the Prof Development tab.
Step 2: Click Add Professional Development.
Step 3: Select "Add your own Professional Development," then click Next.
Step 4: Complete the form:
- Enter a title (Required).
- Enter a description (Optional).
- Click Add.
Step 5: When you are finished with your goals, click Save.
What do do next?
- Ensure that your employee has completed the employee goal-setting task.
- Schedule an appointment to review the goals.
