Overview
This article provides guidance for hourly employees on how to record payable time. It is specifically designed for employees who enter elapsed time and covers the following topics:
- How hourly employees can report their time worked on their campus timesheet
- How to correct time entries on their timesheet
- How to view timesheet entries for accuracy and tracking
Enter Hours worked on Timesheet
Step 1: If you have multiple homepages, select the Employee Self Service Homepage.

Step 2: Click the CSU Time tile.

Step 3: From CSU Time, confirm that you are on the Enter Time page.
- The Enter Time page is opened by default when you open CSU Time.

Step 4: Enter time:
- Navigate to the appropriate pay period.
- Navigate to the appropriate week in the pay period.
- Select REG - Regular Hours Worked as the Time Reporting Code, unless otherwise directed by your timekeeper or Payroll.
- Enter the number of hours you worked for a day.
- Round all partial hours to the nearest tenth (see the Partial Hours Conversion Chart below).
- Do not enter anything on days when you didn't wor
- Employees are only allowed to enter time in the prior period for up to five days after the end of the period.
- IMPORTANT – ADO is additional day off earned. ADOT is additional day off taken. If the TRC is ADO or ADOT, enter a “1” to indicate that a single day of ADO was earned or taken.

Optional: Click the Comments button to enter comments.

Optional: click the Plus button to add another time reporting code for this week. For example, if you worked overtime on some days, select the overtime time reporting code for the second row.

Step 5: Click Submit.

Step 6: Click OK to acknowledge the employee statement.
Step 7: Click OK after the rules have been applied.

If you receive an Earliest Change Date message, click OK.
Rules are not applied if the Earliest Change Date is more than 12 months. The rules will be applied the next time the timeadmin process runs. Timeadmin process typically runs twice each day.

If you see the affirmation statement, click OK if you agree with the statement.
You might see a different message, based on your workgroup.
