Labor Cost Distribution Configuration Guide

Updated on

The CSU Labor Cost Distribution Configuration Guide will guide the user through the setup tables that are required to process LCD.

The primary goal of the Labor Cost Distribution (LCD) model for the CMS Baseline is to transmit a CSU payroll expenditure journal from the CMS Human Capital Management (HCM) application into the CMS Finance application.

The SCO payroll tape file is loaded into the HCM database, paycheck tables are populated, and then salary expenditure dollars are distributed across ChartFields based on user setup and design.  Once the distribution records have been populated, the General Ledger Interface process inserts payroll accounting lines into the HR_ACCTG_LINE table.

These accounting lines are then transmitted to the Financials database as payroll journals via Integration Broker. This guide contains snapshots of the PeopleSoft web pages reviewed during the HCM 9.0 Fit Gap sessions, along with a brief description of any issues and /or recommended approaches for the table setups.

In addition to this documentation, please refer to the appropriate sections in People Books for additional details for configuring and maintaining the HCM product.

  • In general, the HCM 9.0 Configuration Guides should be setup in the following order:
    • CSU Time and Labor
    • CSU Labor Cost Distribution (This guide)
